Self-Defense round, the Speer GDHP or Speer GDHP-ShortBarrel .357 magnum?

I own a 2.5 inch Colt Python so base it on that barrel length.

Which would be best with my barrel length?

I have used both, and I now load the Short Barrel load in whatever .357 I'm currently carrying. Right now, it's a 5 inch 27-2.

I've determined that I'd rather have the capability of much quicker followup shots and less flash and blast. I don't put any faith in "energy transfer" and am looking for permanent tissue destruction. There is not a whole lot of difference between the two in that regard.
