Hi folks, my brother got recalled to active duty with Uncle Sam's Misguided Children again (he is now filling the slot of the guy he worked for during Desert Storm, but that's another story). Anyway was thinking of sending him a knife, maybe ordering from Knife Center of the Internet (one of my favorites) or somebody else. Now I realize sending a firearm to SOCAL is just about impossible, but what about sending a knife - anything special I need to know?

My humble opinion is that as long as it isn't a Kali-Verbotten blade - Balisong or switcher - sending it here should pose no problems. If he is active duty military, he can probably order a automatic folder for himself.

That's correct. No length limits, no problems on double-edge, the only absolute OWNERSHIP ban is on cane-swords. Ownership (but NOT street carry!) of switchblades or Bali-Songs is legal...but there might be problems with shipping, I would avoid those in any case.

What else...zero-metal-content knives (zytel daggers, ceramic "stealth" knives, etc) are totally banned.

Titanium or cobalt-alloy pieces are legal.

Let me suggest you order it and have the company deliver it to him where he lives. No problems for you that way. Send a nice card;) . God speed and protect your brother.
