right now I carry a SA 1911 stainless and a 340pd as a BUG. I had some issues with my 1911 after a few years of faithfull use. After a pretty good rebuilt and some filing I got it working great again, but only having one carry weapon other than my backup got to me and is killing my self confidence. I love the 1911 model and wouldnt say anything bad about it, but I think its time to diversify a little. I do not like Glocks, I have owned and carried one and just couldnt get over my emotional feelings about lack of a standard safety. I like HK but I am a lefty and they dont really do much for us. I like Smith and wesson also, but their recent models dont do much for me. So this brings me to Sig. A good reputation, and a single action model with a dual ambi safety and rail which I would put an m6x light on and carry in a safrailand holster.
My 1911 is definitely a better shooter than I am, the weight helps me for sure, but the accuracy is just unbelievable. Its not an overly tight gun, but I didnt want it too be for my purposes. The sig with the m6x is about 35oz about 5oz shy of the 1911, but Im hoping that the forward weight of the light will make up for that. Besides if I can control an 11oz 357 with 1 and 7/8" barrel, Im sure I can deal with loosing the 50z of weight on the sig.
Bottom line, how does it shoot, how is the reliability, and how is the wear?
Thanks guys!
