I mentioned in another thread* that I had some last round FTE issues that I traced to maybe being a mag problem. Called Sig and they readily replaced the mags on an advance exchange. They arrived today and they are different than the one that came with the recent purchase gun and from the ones going back...:scrutiny:

So the gun has at least 3 different mag versions from Sig...kinda puzzling for a new gun thats only been out for a couple of months...

Pic below shows the original mag from the gun on the left, the "pointy top" one maybe causing last round FTEs on the right and the replacement, in the center, just received...note the slide hold open tab at more of an angle.

Interesting, so much for consistency. :)

I have 3 similar to your mag on the far right that I purchased from SIG, and 1 similar to your mag on the far left, that came with the pistol. They all hold six rounds, can be inserted into the magwell with the slide closed and function fine with the pistol.

I discovered something odd checking the mags last night...the newest mags with the angled up slide stop activator will not let you release the slide on an empty mag.
Even retracting the slide by hand and trying to move the slide release down will not work, it just can't be moved. Don't know if this is by design or not:confused:
The other two style mags will let you release the slide on an empty mag...
I also noticed the angled up slide stop activator causes the follower to be tilted slightly down in the front when empty, this may be an effort to help last round extraction/ejection.

for your mags,
does the top of your follower get rubbed by the slide action.
the mags I have are:
one of the first mag in line.
and two of the last mag in line.
all three mags get rubbed on the extractor by my slide.

I had many ejection failures with the 'first mag' especially in rapid fire.
I haven't been able to fire the two 'last' mags yet.

What are your results?

The center of the slide does rub the follower when the mag is empty, I don't really see a concern with this.
Just to be clear the ejector is that little metal finger that sticks out that must be depressed to get the slide back on after removal.
The extractor is in the slide, it is the little notched piece that grabs the rim of a cartridge.
Neither one should touch the mag in any way.

I haven't fired the gun since getting the replacement mags yesterday, maybe tomorrow I'll get out to the range.

I tested my 4 mag's this morning. I can release the slide release with the mag's inserted in the magwell. Good luck with your test. :)
