sights for Taurus

I have recently bought a Taurus OSS Tactical .40 cal in black. I went to order tritium night sights through Heinie. When i posted my comment about my order, that if the sights were the wrong ones to e-mail me and I would get the right one. This was Thier comment.........."I have cancelled your order. Our Taurus aftermarket sights will not fit the OSS Tactical. The OSS has a safety plunger that affects the sight fit with the current design we are offering. Thank you."
I am a little confused, I assume he/she knows their sights considering he/she works for Heinie. Anyway on to my question..how does the safety plunger affect the sight? Best I can tell nothing interferes with the sight other than the "dovetail" size.
Your comments are welcome since I am "ignorant" with the mechanical aspect of my new gun.

I am unsure about the OSS,but my 1911 has the firing pin lock plunger under the rear sight.The sights can be changed as long as you don't loose the parts under it,as they are spring loaded.
