I posted a few weeks back on an Enfield thread about a recent fun show pick up. I finally had a few minutes to take a few crappy pics and post. The rifle is an RSA (Enfield) 1918 No. 1 Mk. III* that has been FTR'd (Factory Thorough Repair) in 1943. All numbers match; receiver, bolt, nose cone, sight and butt plate. There are no numbers on the magazine and the stock looked liked someone took 80 grit to it so the few markings left are very faint. Bore is bright and rifling is sharp. Metal has been refinished (assuming during FTR) and still about 85%. The butt stock disk and sling are things I had around. Price was $125 with the NY gun show FFL fee of $25. The seller through in 80 rounds of ball, 40 S&B and 40 PRVI plus about a dozen stripper clips and a case. What you see here is what it looked like after a good cleaning, some steel wool and a couple of coat of linseed oil. Appreciate your comments. Bill
P.S. Opinions on what to do with the stock would be appreciated. Like I said it was rough and already sanded. Should I just go for babies butt smooth or leave it rough. Thanks Again.
