Snubby Revolver book

I have it.

It's really short--something like 125 pages. Most of it is about the advantages of carrying a snub and it has some brief info on snubs historically carried by police forces.

It's OK--but probably not worth the $15 or so. You might want to try looking for it at your local library.

Bacchus,
Thanks for your input.
Sounds too general not technical enough for my taste.

I bought it and wish I hadn't. It is a collection of recycled magazine articles and much of the information is dated. A good chunk of the book is padded with subjects not unique to snubbies, such as tactics. And the coverage of tactics is nothing special.

You are far more likely to find useful information in this and other internet forums. IMO, save your money.

Thanks, guys. I'm in the market for a snubbie and was going to pick up this book for research purposes. You've told me all I need to know about it and I'm soooo glad I popped in.

No new book for me!

Still gotta find the right snubbie.

VaughnT, allow me to throw in my two cents on the S&W 642. I have been carrying it for more than two years now, and it's the only gun I've been able to wear concealed (in a belly band) in every situation. The little thing just melts right in. I wish I could carry my Glock 26, but the corners and edges on the Glock make it stand out too much for my tastes. I'll try another holster or two for the Glock, but as it stands right now, nothing beats my 642.

I have the book. For the price of a couple of Big Macs, fries, a shake, and Terminator III, well what the heck.

LIPROGUN's review pretty well sums it up. However, there are some quotes in the book that I like.

"Sexy ammo will not make up for lousy shot placement."

"If you have to reload during a gunfight, you are either missing a lot or you brought the wrong weapon."

"People, not guns, with gunfights."

I think it is a good, easy to read, introductory text for those new to shooting.

"It may not be the best tool for the job, but it is the one we are most likely to have with us all the time."
