Taurus's answer to the PF-9 and other sub compact 9s.

Taurus makes a point that this is a single action only trigger and looking at the pics it has a similar trigger safety like Glocks & XDs, so there is some promise there. SA trigger + Titanium slide + Ultra compact, on paper this is my ideal carry pistol.

I been looking for a SLIM compact 9mm for awhile now. I got a Kahr CW9 and I hate the trigger, tried out a PF-9 and I'm not a fan. So here is another option... only thing is I had bad experiences with Taurus auto pistols in the past, has Taurus improved on their polymer pistols lately?

I can't comment on the 709, but I bought a TCP about two weeks ago. I've got about 150 rounds through it so far, UMC FMJ and Remington Golden Saber HP, and not a hiccup so far (I know, that's not much, but the thing has run reliably from shot one). I should mention that I was mixing the HP's in with the FMJ's.

I don't know how accurate it its yet - the one thing I forgot the day I took it out was targets, so I was shooting at salvaged clay pigeons that were lying on the ground up against a piece of cardboard, and I never shoot well doing that - I put a lot of shots a little high or a little low, and can't tell exactly where they're hitting. Next time I take it out - which will be soon - I will make certain of taking a real target so I can see where I'm hitting. I can say I'm not a huge fan of those low sights.

Still, not one hiccup out of a brand new gun in the first 150 rounds. That's good in my book.
