This is a Cabela's Pietta from 2013.
The colors are certainly not as bright in person.
The camera flash and a little oil really makes them stand out.
The whole frame appears to be colored, including the exposed parts of the grip frame and the top strap.
I know that it's not bone color case hardening, but it doesn't look half bad and perhaps
a little better than if it were a plain blued model.
It's just different.

I have one of those too, it's nice. I also have a short-barrel sheriff's model with fluted cylinder that's color case hardened. Also verrrrrry nice.

I know Remington never made this last gun in reality .......

....... BUT THEY SHOULD HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ho, that's a nice looking gun, and I mean nice. Who cares if Remington never made one. Maybe why is because most were made for the military and shortly after the civil war they stopped producing them. I like the checkered grips. Have you shot it much ?

Those are nice. I bought a Traditions Pietta1851 Navy .36 a while back and the case colors were very good. The rest of the gun was just so-so. $230.

The Traditions gun is on the bottom, untouched from the box. The Cabela's Pietta Navy 1851 is on top. $170.

Tell me what I am missing about the Traditions guns, other than the Traditions box, especially for the elevated price.

I have a pair of those and I really like them. Pietta is getting a lot better at controlling their quench and getting a good array of colors. Still not quite Colt but pretty good.

I like it. Looks great. I like it a lot better than the bright, over the top colors from Turnbull. Sometimes they just do too much color contrast. I have a couple of old H&R 410 shotguns that have case hardening and the colors are muted and I like the way they look.

No, I recently bought it 2nd hand in unfired condition.

I like the Pietta Remington NMA with the color case hardened frame!

This recent Pietta Colt Model 1860 has some decent color to it, especially with some of the various hues of blue.
