After some discussion (months of it) we are collectively starting a reloading class at the local range. One of the members has developed a class outline for reloading handgun ammo. This was determined to be simpler and most that were interested wanted to reload for CAS to get cost savings. We will start with 45 Colt, 38 SPL, and 44 Spl. Any other clubs doing this?? We do not allow members to get joint equipment and use it at the club presently due to liability issues so we will be doing a "show and tell" with some hands on to get a novice reloader started safely. Then it will be up to the participating individuals to get themselves equipped and reload safely along with our mentoring as needed.

I belong to two clubs and neither has any sort of reloading class.
I would certainly be interested in helping out if we did start a class.

I don't have any family members that reload.
I had an uncle that reloaded shot shells, but he passed away when I was 11.
So I, too, wish there would've been a class when I started.

I have wanted to open a reloading club/store for twenty years now. I want to offer presses for members to both learn on, and use to load their own ammo. The only thing they would need to do, is pay the membership/insurance fee, and buy their components and dies from the club.

NRA has a metallic cartridge instructor certificate for anybody who wants to become an NRA-certified reloading instructor. Possibly a good investment of time for someone at your club. I got mine and it has been a ton of fun!

That's a great idea. I would have gone to such a class if one was offered when i started. Someday when I'm more experienced I'd like to teach one.

I will have to look into that class myself. I will update you all as the thing progresses. We really have a lot of members at the club with extensive experience and they are always willing to step up when needed. One of our guys is a top ranked pistol shooter at Perry. He is always in the top 10 or so these days so we have to shoot well to keep up with him.:D
