As I'm suddenly feeling "old", I decided to purchase a couple of ladder stands, so I don't have to work too hard to get up in the air. I need to haul them through some pretty dense and hilly woods to get them where I need them, and I would like to use my ATV as much as possible. Do you have any suggestions for hauling or dragging stands on or behind an ATV. There are a couple rough creek crossings (steep banks) on the way, but there is a 3-4' wide (fairly clear) trail leading to the backside of the property. The ladder is in 5' sections. Any ideas?

We use our atvs to set out our ladder stands and we go through some heavy stuff to get them there. If the trail is wide enough for the atv to get through (at least 4 ft) you can probably get the 5 ft sections through mounted on the rack. Just strapped on with bungy cords is how we get them where we need them.

Thanks Salthouse. I reconfigured my rear rack to accomodate the stands and strapped them in pretty good. After much frustration from working around sapplngs, I finally figured out that I could drive over most of them rarther than go around (sometimes it's nice to have a big heavy atv). Them vines are a b*tch though. Anyway...the stands are up and this cooler weather is getting me in the mood for bow hunting.
