Bruce in West Oz is correct.......
"Maybe you should note that the Labor Party has as one of the fundamental planks of its platform the removal of all firearms ownership from the public. They are, by tradition, even more anti-gun than Howard's mob. They voted 100% (not one dissenting vote) for the 1996 gun laws."
************************************************************
There is no hope for firearms owners in a Labour Government.
We have no major party to turn to. None.
************************************************************
"Latham will do NOTHING to protect or even care about gun owners."
************************************************************
Firearms owners are not even on Latham's screen at the moment.
************************************************************
"Unless we can (a) do a deal with one of the parties, or (b) get a heap of pro-gun independents in at the next Federal election, we are reamed, bored and countersunk."
************************************************************
Now is the time to try for that deal....Labour is desperate enough to get into power...but we need a lot of activism in a very short time frame to pull it off.
I hate to be a pessimist, but 'reamed, bored and countersunk' pretty much hits the nail on the head here.
