Is there a site out there that can give target sizes at different ranges? What I am looking for is something that I can use to shoot at 100 or 200 yards but have the same sight picture as if it were 300 yards.
thanks.

None of my methods compensate for caliber of bullet breaking the scoring rings on NRA or other match type targets. Some people do compensate for that.

1st method:
Reduce target by the range
12" @ 400yds
% = %
9" @ 300 yds - using 75%
6" @ 200 yds - 50%
3" @ 100 yds - 25%

the method works of even yardages. It still is easier to figure out the that it is a 3MOA target and multiply by yardage.

2nd method:
1" @ 100 Yds - .01" @ 1 Yd

(Target size in inches) divided by (range in yards) gives you a factor.
EX:
Target =36"
Range = 600yds
36 divided by 600 = .06
.06 is factor per yard
*.02 is factor per foot

.06 x 100yd = 6" target
.06 x 77yd = 4.62" target
.06 x 14yd = .84" target

*.02 x 31ft = .62" target

the method works well for any yardage not just even numbers. Once you know the factor it is easy.

*The easiest way to make a mistake is to mix up units.

While I don't compensate for bullet size I believe sight picture of aiming black is maintained. I don't think splitting hairs on aiming ring is that beneficial in terms of developing as a shooter.
