I just picked up a NIB Taurus Model 731 Titanium revolver which I understand is a discontinued model.

Does anyone have any info on production years for this gun or any comments regarding why it was discontinued ?

Taurus seems to be throwing out new gun ideas left and right with the idea that something will stick and become a hit. When new models are met with a sluggish market response they pull them never to be heard of again. I wish they'd bother to have them put on the California marketplace as I'd like to give a few a try, but alas they seem to only submit the same old models here that are as exciting as watching paint dry.

I LOVE the idea of the Taurus 731!

I have been urging Nick, the CEO of Charter Arms to ressurect the "I" frame revolver (discontinued in 1961 by S&W) to house a 9mm/.380, as well as a .32 H&R Mag/.32 S&W Long/.32 S&W and a .22 WMRF project.

IF he were to do this, the five shot 9mm/.380 project that employs "moon clips" would take off like a rocket. The six shot .32 Mag would work for the recoil sensitive, as would the .22 WMRF.
