Taurus - The View? Anyone see this?

You know, I'm half surprised that Federal didn't team up with Taurus to get this produced in .327 Magnum along side the .38 Spl model. I figure it'd be less painful if down loaded with .32 H&R Mag or .32 Auto for range practice.

A+ you get for the most practical change to make in this little pea shooter.

At that size and weight the .32 ACP or the .32 H&R mag. would be the
hardest I want to push it. My 721 will shoot the semi rimless .32 ACP, but I could see this little gun with speed clips in that caliber , and that might be appealing.

It sort of reminds me of a 1920's squirt gun that used a cast body and a rubber squeeze bulb for the handle.

A see thru side plate ? I'm not seeing any practical use for that but I'm sure someone will come up with a reason why it is an absolutely required feature

Yeah, I just saw that thing on Taurus's website and came on here to see what the buzz was on it. You all pretty much summed up what I think -- stupid looking and OUCH! I'm certainly not a Taurus basher, I carry a model 82 every day, but was looking for a shorter one after my wife said those 6 little words every man wants to hear -- "You need to get another gun" No matter that she said it while mending the seam of yet another pair of pants that the 4 inch barrel had split -- I'm holding her to it!

Not sure why so many are bashing this gun?

It's THE smallest and lightest 5 shot .38 special revolver ever made, that alone is interesting. I think it would make a fine BUG loaded with some warm 158 grain full wadcutters. Should have plenty of penetration even from the short barrel.

I'd MUCH rather have a View than a .25 pocket pistol!

I just cant get past the clear side plate. Make one that doesn't have that and I might get one

Ummm, that's funny as hell, but I suspect the mods may take issue with that comment. ;)

I would have named it the "Looky-loo". :D

Whether the View is good or bad, or what Taurus reputation may or may not be, my hats off to Mark Kresser, the president of Taurus USA.

The View is Kresser's design and he personally stand behind it.

Who stands behind S&W? Ooops, forgot his name.

Who stands behind SIG?, Ooops, forgot his name.

What president of a company trying to sell a product wouldn't?

"Sir how do you feel about this product that your company is selling and you designed personally?"

"Oh no, don't buy that thing. It's a total piece of crap...."

I have no doubt if you asked the president, board of directors, and designers in both of those companies if they stand behind their products, they'd all say yes.

The designer telling me something is good does not make something good, nor does it make it a useful product to me. I'm sure the designer of a smart car would tell me it's good. I'm still not going to buy one.

I think it is neat but I'm sure that Taurus haters will claim that it was designed so that you could physically watch it go out of time.
