the FN SCAR rifle

for those who still does not know - the US SOCOM awarded the FNH USA the contract for a new SOCOM modular rifle system, called SCAR.

when i first saw it i thought, hey LOOK its a beefed up FNC. i like the full length weaver rail on it that the XM8 lacks. i dont see the need for carry handles anymore. i really hope they make em in the US of A and mabey make a few thousand civ versions ..............oh and

i thought it was a "grenade launcher" how could a military assault rifle be without a grenade launcher

One correction: I've seen at least two FN references to the use of a short stroke gas system in the SCAR, as opposed to the FNC's long stroke system.
