this morning i called Glock and they said they are working on a 36 4th Gen

a couple of weeks ago i got a new glock model 30
since then i got my hands on a 30SF
im not happy with the feel of the 30 and am convinced
that I want a 30SF im a 1911 fan and decided to go with plastic and i want a 36gen 4 for my wife , that Glock is working on now ,may come out in the next year

then I find out about the new XDS that springfield just relaeased at the shot show and is shipping soon
Its a 5 +1 and its the smallest and lightest touted the Micro compact, of plastic guns
so dont know but to get my wife the 36 for now and the 30 SF for me, or keep my model 30 till they come out with a gen 4 model 30
hhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
and yet im considering a pair of.45 xdm's
its come down to xds or wait for the fourth gen model 36
cant make up my mind ,

I saw some reference that the model 30 could be converted to 10mm by changing the barrel and the mag ,
dont know if that works with the 30 SF
maybe the 10mm is gonna make a come back, if it does im interested,
in having a compact semi auto pack gun
till I make some informed decisions im gonna stick with my 1911's

Why would you want a 30 in 10mm, if there's the 29?

And personally, I'd wait for the Gen 4 30 and 36. I just don't like XD's. Of course both will do the job for you.

If one were so inclined (not me), one could in theory have interchangeable calibers just by swapping barrels and magazines. Assuming this is possible.

I haven't personally done it, but there are products that enable you to do it.

I'm looking at the gen 3 36, a proven design. Let someone else be the guinea pig with the gen 4 Glock or the XDs.

went with Glocks instead of the xdm's

went to the Denver show today and took a good look again at the xdm
too much money and i dont like the grip safety ,
like the Idea of the Glock being a point and pull thing
no hammer no saftey just pull the trigger
, my wife will do better with that
dont have to retrain her every time we go out shooting
so i went with the 30SF and a 36 for my wife
traded my model 30 and one other piece,
I think we will be happy with the glocks

What's wrong with he gen3 Glock-36? I carried one for several yeras before opting for pocket carry of a Kahr PM-9. The G-36 is still with me either in the car or at home. My G-36 has been super reliable and easy to shoot.

the reason

the reason i went with the 30sf vs waiting for the gen 4 30 was because of one reason. The wait. The gen 4 21 is functioning perfect so you shouldn't worry about being the guenie pig. I wouldnt get the xds just for the simple reason it has yet to be provn. I've owned a 36, and while i enjoyed it, the Glock 21 magazines don't fit. So i prefer the 30. Those are really the main reasons.
i can send you some other documentation if you'd like on the reasons why.

test

went to the range today with both new glocks
put about 3 boxes through each of them, had one stovepipe in the 36 but i shot up about 5 diff kinds of ammo , i know it happened when i switched to some RWS hollow points , otherwise they ate up all kinds of JHP's FMJ's and once loaded ammo and worked great
when i got home I cheaned both of them which is fairly easy (no tools required ) and im satisfied with my choices
when the 4th gens come out Ill check them out but so far I think im set for a long time
