I was about to buy a new Kahr PM9.

Then........ I was looking at their website and noticed that the PM40
is nearly identical in size and very close in weight.

Have any of you folks got any experience with the PM40?

Is the frame the same dims as on the PM9? The slide is only minutely larger.

How does the perceived recoil compare to the 9mm?
I'm not particularly recoil sensitive, but I'm also used to all steel handguns.

Accuracy?
Durability?
Overall impressions...

Thanks!!

I haven't shot either Kahr that you are looking at, mine is a K40. My main purpose is to bump your post for you, and say that I would go with the PM40 to get the more effective round. Maybe you can find a PM40 at a rental range and shoot one. That's the best way to tell. Recoil is very subjective.

Even in the steel framed guns, the MK40 is quite a bit sharper to my hands than the PM9. The PM40 with full load 40s should be pretty sharp but nothing that a good sized person in good health shouldn't be able to learn to control, esp at distances you should expect to realistically use a PM40.

XavierBreath , Thanks for the bump!
I spent nearly a week research the two on the internet.
It seems like the PM40 still may have some bugs. That tis the impression I get over at Pistolsmith.com anyway.

I bought a new PM9 yesterday. Now I have to wait for king Ted ,the sheriff in my part of MO, to sign off on my PTA.

That' ok cause it ain't like I don't have other guns!

The woman that takes the apps and the money always gives me dirty looks when I tell her that.
