This is my first post, but I've "lurked" here for a while. THR has always been a good source of info for me.
Anyway, I'm looking for practical info about TruGlo's new compact scopes. They apparently offer these in rimfire, shotgun, and crossbow formats, with the only difference being the mounts and/or reticle design. Midway has them and they can be found on eBay. Prices run in the $40-$50 range.
I like the looks of these scopes because of the compact profile, which produces a scope that's just 8 inches or so in length. This aesthetic quality is important to me b/c I have a diminutive Marlin 75C that needs a scope, and I think that a full-size rimfire scope (usu. 10-12 inches) looks ridiculous on such a small rifle.
But, how do the TruGlo's perform? I'd be interested in hearing from those who've actually owned/used one. Yes, I know they're made in PRC and they're not a Leupold. However, this scope and rifle will be used almost exclusively for shooting Coke cans at moderate ranges on mostly bright, sunshiny days. So, my need for superior optical quality is not that great. As long as the scope will hold zero and stay in focus while using .22 LR plinking ammo, I think I'll be happy.
Thanks in advance for anyone's input.
