Using bare lead bullets

I thought it was obvious from the OP that they meant "bare lead" as in no copper jacket, but always useful to clear that up.

Check the websites of powder manufacturers as they will no doubt have some loads for lead bullets. You'll often see this as a (L) next to the bullet weight or type (e.g. 200gr (L) Semiwadcutter or 200gr Semiwadcutter (L)).

I've used .358 lead bullets (lubed of course) in my Marlin 1894. In the 3,800 rounds or so fired through it I've cleaned it maybe a handful of times. I always clean it after shooting jacketed to avoid copper corrosion, but I don't have that issue when shooting lead, non-copper jacketed bullets.

As others have mentioned, just make sure you have enough powder to cycle the action reliably and you should be good to go.
