I bought a turk several years ago to refinish, and never did. I got as far as buying another original stock for it and removing the hardware from the original stock. The original stock was unusable.

So now I have this mauser in pieces that I would like to pass on to someone else. How do I put a value to it? The stock needs to be fitted, finished, and all parts put back together.

Complete Turk Mausers seem to go for about $150ish from what I've seen.

You say you bought another "original stock" to replace the bad one...does this mean a used surplus stock?

If it's a used surplus stock I wouldn't imagine there would be much "fitting" to do. More like just reassembly. Sure you might need to touch a bit here and there.

It depends on the condition of the bore, the stock and metal finish but since most Turks are mix-masters anyway, having a mis-matched stock won't really hurt the value too much.

$100 in pieces, $150ish if you can get it together.

The collector buyer won't want the stock "refinished". A shooter might pay more for a refinished stock but probably not.

Hope that helps.
