It is a legal product (today). It is a good product.
And good for them for staying the course, while others companies show how jelly-like their spines are. Seems to me that they should be commended, not critiqued. Good on them!

Ironic considering Biden's committee specifically named Wal-Mart as a partner in their upcoming plans on gun control. Not surprised. Wal-Mart sells everything else, firearms and ammo are a very small part of their sales.
No they didn't. Look at the wording again.
I can't find the direct quote right now, but basically what it says is that they want to enlist Wal-Mart's support. NOT that Wal-Mart is a supporter. Those are very different things. If wishes were horses, and all that.
That sticker is at least a couple months old that I am aware of (I saw it at my local WM at least in early December).
It well predates Newtown and the current gun control fracas.

What I saw said he was trying to enlist WM support (and weight with lawmakers) for the proposed FFL sales of all firearms and banning of internet ammo sales under the auspices that it would increase their brick-and-mortar business traffic.

After the horrible kidnapping and rape of an Indian woman with a tire tool, those insensitive @#$%^ at Walmart still have tire tools on sale in their automotive department. The woman died FCOL and these hideous weapons of torture and death are sold to anyone.

Maybe. WM and other stores should come out with a statement soon showing their position otherwise they would be considered guilty by association to most people. I know the Wal-Marts in my area have the same signs about the AR Modern Sporting Rifle and not assault weapon or some other "evil" term. But high up the corporate ladder should say something across all stores to put Biden off.

Don't understand the OP?
I don't look for Wally World to stay the course when Obama offers them a deal they can't refuse.
The White house says they are going to enlist Wal-Mart (one of the nations largest sellers of firearms) to work with them to shut down no background check gun show sales. The WH is also going after FFL gun shops etc. with the same pitch.
Follow the money, Wally and the gun shops would stand to increase sales with such a ban in place.

Ironic humor: that the very gun that Walmart chose as "gun of the month" (not sure if it is for December or January) is the very gun that is at the center of all controversy today.
Guess I just have an odd sense of humor.
The first sentence is sarcasm. Us Georgians are proud of our guns, regardless of antigun sentiment. Hard to convey tone/sarcasm in a post.

Biden et.al. are taking an strong arm approach ... by publicly naming WalMart and others, they put the companies on the defensive ... they would now have to explain why they won't come to the table, rather than just remaining silent. They are playing rough with all parties on this issue, and expect it to get more brazen (if that's possible at this point).
BTW, while would the Dems feel free top shove WalMart in such an awkward position? Remember that just a few months ago, United Food and Commercial Workers Union filed a complaint with the FEC that Jim Walton (Wal, as in Walmart) made illegal campaign contributions, heavily favoring Republican candidates.
Of course (irony) the UFCW would have also brought such a complaint if WalMart heavily favored Democratic candidates, And of course, (continued irony) Biden would, of course, have tossed Walmart into the limelight, even if they were Democratic contributors.
Politics as usual here in the beltway. Lawyers, guns and money, as the song goes.
