I ran this on a couple other forums and the response has been pretty good. Drew is a responsible 15 year old who does odd jobs when not doing farm chores. He saved his money and bought a 243 Winchester. Went through hunter safety and will be in the woods this year trying for his first deer. He has taken an interest in handloading and I will mentor him through the learning process.

I asked if anyone had spare components or equipment they cared to donate. Below are the haves and needs. If you care to donate something PM me and I will send my contact info. I will post pics when I get the stuff pieced together.

Have
Bullets, Brass, Dies (on the way), Deburring Tool, Case Length Gage, Trimmer & Lock Stud, Powder Measure, Scale

Need
Primer Pocket Cleaner or Uniformer, Calipers, Priming Tool, Reloading Manual, Dipper Cups

I can send new in box Lee Auto Prime XR hand primer (I have 2) and new pocket cleaner (I have several). PM me with address.

My reloading mentor was very generous with me and simply asked that I pay forward.

You don't need a caliper for now. Use a Lee trimmer and seat the bullet to mag length or the cannelure if the bullet has one.

I have a harbor freight digital caliper that I don't really like. I'm old school and use my Starret dial calipers if you want.

I also have the latest Nosler reloading manual that I really don't use anymore as I use Hornady bullets as of now.

I have the Lee primer pocket cleaner that I don't use.

What calibers? I inherited a lot of Dad's old reloading stuff may have a set of dies you need.....

Edit: I just bought, NIB took out to look the Lee Dippers (latest one). I don't really like them and sticking with my scale.

What a great gesture. Good for you. He sounds like a good kid that'll go somewhere, perhaps thanks to you/all.
People/young'uns need just the slightest direction/encouragement to become someone to be reckoned with on many levels.

Strip the right size stranded wire for a primer pocket cleaner. It works well.

Have a 243 hand loader with scoop/etc. That might be more of a step back than you want but is the way many got started. Have an extra beam balance scale if needed. Thanks for taking him "under your wing".

I have a bunch of Reloading Data in PDF format. Let me know if I can help.

Dan

Thanks for the good words - if the stuff comes in this week that I believe is in the mail I can get him started next week providing harvest season is not too demanding. Worst case is a short delay. He's excited. I will be posting pictures.
