WASR-10 Dimples?

What exactly are the dimples on the inside of the magwell on an AK that I keep hearing about? People say the WASR-10 doesn't have them, and I have a WASR-10, but I would like to know if someone could look at these pics and tell me if mine does or does not have dimples...

yours DOESN'T have dimples, 99% of wasrs don't ( 1% incase theres some one off i dont know of)

those tabs serve the same function as dimples. lining up the mag and stopping wobble.

in the case of a WASR they use tabs instead of dimples, so that the original, much larger single stack tabs can be filled down, and mag well opend to work with double stack mags

if you had dimples you couldnt make them deep enough to stabilize the mag, nor could you file them back with out making filing a hole in the metal reciever...

The dimples serve one purpose - to strengthen the receiver. It's the mag well dimensions that control "wobble".

The RPK-74 since the 70s and the late RPKs have all used non-dimpled receivers (these rifles have a reinforcing rail like the Saiga inside their receivers).
