Wather P22

Got my P22 in Sept '02. It's been back for service once.
I have probably 3000 rnds thru it now.
Besides the slide being a bit soft, wear spots develop easily,
the only other thing that bugs me is the grip size, and maybe the ejection pattern. I wish Walther had kept the grip the same as the P99. Even with the large strap, and a tac band on it, the grip is tiny. I've tried to "fix" the ejection pattern issue, but although some cases eject to the right, the last 1-2 from a magazine eject straight up & over head.
I've used all CCI variations, Rem Goldens, Am Eagle HV, Winch Target with no issues. Federal Bulk doesn't work in mine.

heh, the grip was a large part of the reason i bought one! fits smaller hands perfectly. more guns should have a grip like this.

Actually, yes, some of my smaller framed (with smaller hands) students really like the grip size. I'm hoping that someday, we may be allowed to buy a Ruger MKIII here in Kerry country. I'd like another semi .22, and do not like the S&W 22A/22S. I do like the model 41, but too pricey!
(I have range time with all of those, that are Approved for sale here)

Just an update on my P22. I decided that since S&W requires the pistol to be sent back to them for all warranty repair, I would try one more range session using CCI mini-mag and Velocitors as they seem to work for others on this board. Before going to the range I manually racked the slide several hundred times. At the range I shot 120 rounds of the above mentioned ammunition. I then tried 20 rounds of Federal bulk pack. Only one FTF in 140 rds and that was ammo related not pistol. I now think the problem of FTE has been resolved. I certainly hope it is as I like the little pistol. Thanks for all the comments and ammo suggestions. WTM
