I’ve been at work the past week and finally got online, I don’t have tv or internet and the first things I am reading are a lot of negative posts on gun ownership? I don’t get it, with the large number of gun owners not to mention a republican majority what is happening with the nation? Some sick people did some terrible things, and now the news is blasting that fact 24/7.

It seems like any nutcase out there will be spurred on to get their name in the news as the next wacko out there hurting innocent people.

Sorry if this is off topic, but I have worked with people who are seeking help or fighting mental health issues and to slap names of these people in the headlines seems like a dangerous course to take.

I hunt to feed my family, I own NFA registered items and am a law abiding citizen and I feel as though people are using these events to make responsible people look as bad as the terrible people they seem to talk so much about.

Wondering why firearms are being criminalized in the media instead of the individuals being called out for the monsters they are.

Well all I can say is we have seen numerous LEO in various states that have flat out refused to adhere to unconstitutional laws. We can only hope they continue. If there is anyone that knows and understand that only law abiding people get punished from politicians ignorant actions it's LEO.
I may not live to witness it but the current trends will lead to a bloody remedy. One can only hope those that have a sworn duty to protect the constitution from foes foreign and domestic are on our side. 70mill plus army will be a force to bring recon to the field. As was intended.

Actually, nothing has happened. The media is making another all out push to attack gun rights, happens like clockwork after they publicize a few horrific crimes. They of course assure us that the American public is ready to give up our rights, eager even. They've done it before. They'll do it again.

Trump is facing an election cycle. He feels assured of the conservative vote. Where else are they going to go? But the voting base he had in the last election may or may not be enough to carry the next. If he shows a bit of anguish, some vague sympathy toward red flag laws--which sound so appealing until you actually study them. Or background checks--many moderate Americans think we ought to do something there, but when you ask them what, the measures they favor are already law. They were never interested in the issue enough to find out. By making a few remarks a bit more sympathetic to the left, there's a possibility he can pick up some support in the middle.

You have to remember this election won't be won by either the hard left or the hard right. There aren't enough of either. The critical vote are those who voted for Obama and turned around and voted for Trump. Then there are those who will just sulk who will consider whoever their party puts up as not the perfect socialist or not the perfect conservative, and they'll stay home. These two groups are what I call the idiot vote, and they make and break Presidents. Whoever can read them and appeal to them will win. They don't believe in anything, and they distrust anyone who does. Confused centrist hash is what appeals to them, failing that, they'll go for outright lies.
