I heard this story a few years ago... Back when I repaired cars.
A couple of good old boys were out plinking with their 22's in an old pickup. Evening came around and they were heading home with their lights on. The headlamps would not stay on and kept tripping the circuit breaker. Which required them to pull over and wait for the breaker to cool. After a bit, the breaker finially burned out. They were going through the cab trying to find a fuse, breaker, or something to replace the blown one. Somewhere during the search, they came upon the discovery that a .22 round would fit perfectly in the void for the circuit breaker under the dash. They were in business and hopped in the truck to finish the trip. Now if you know anything about electrical short curcuits, you know that they develop heat. In this situation, enough heat to cause the round to pop off. It hit the driver in the man region/groin area. He kept the vehicle under control... However, the police officer and hospital staff could not keep a straight face...
The guy said it was the truck fault he was shot. I say it was the loose nut behind the wheel.... (pun intended)
