I realize that for a long time Ebay has disallowed gun sales. They have also restricted gun related items. So, Gunbroker.com is the new Ebay of guns. But now from a seller of TOYS I read this:

After my recent suspension on ebay for selling W.W.II German historical toys, I've been allowed to come come back on the condition that I sell nothing of German origin other than Stamps, coins, and some books printed after 1945.
The items I sold were in no way been meant to glorify what the Germans did.
Ebay was very clear. No Tanks, Planes or Figures may be sold on Ebay showing any type of german markings from W.W.II.
If you have any question about this feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] or look at my me page for more information.

Am I the only one or is this strange? (If I am, please counsel me!)

What is up with Ebay that I don't know about?

They're P.C. idiots (with too much money and power). They should be regulated like a monopoly at this point.

The Old Fuff has no problems with Ebay... :what:

For the simple reason he doesn't go there - either to buy or sell.

When sellers get fed up enough to leave and go elsewhere they will start to lose money. :uhoh:

When that happens things will change.

With Ebay, making money is job-one. :banghead:

I believe it's been long time ruld that no nazi marked items were allowed on ebay. I believe the founder/owner or something along that line was Jewish and likely related to some of those persecuted and kiled in the Nazi death camps.

Isn't that main goal of any business? Isnt that why we all go to our jobs?

Everyone gripes about ebay and any other company that has even a hint of anythng anti-gun. I gotta wonder how many that gripe are purchasing and using only items bought from gun-friendly stores/manufacturers? Can these same ppl be welcomed at thier employment place carrying a firearm?

Ebay is just protecting themselves from the liberal lawmakers. If it was your business wouldnt you?

:)

Actually, they are an international company trying to abide by the very complicated laws of many countries. Many European countries have very strict laws about the sales of Nazi items. A group in France sued Yahoo Auctions in 2000 over allowing Nazi memorabilia and the French government told Yahoo they had to block access by French citizens. (Link) For them, being able to be in business in those countries far outweighs the lost revenue from not allowing such things.

Or, as they would say, "eBay is now a worldwide community with many users residing in countries where the possession or sale of items associated with hate organizations is a criminal offense."

Sometimes, it really just is business.

But I have to ask, why are you posting this on a gun forum?

Ebay can set whatever rules they want...it's their business. If there is a market for gun auctions, somebody like Gunbroker will step in and take the market. Why do people think every company has to be everything they want? Same with paypal.

You are free to start your own gunpal company any time you like....you may then find out soon why paypal has the rules they have.

Irony

You have to appreciate the irony of PC.

In the world of PC, the Holocaust never happened. And it's evil to sell Nazi stuff . . . because of the Holocaust.

Which never happened.

But, hey, we were talking about guns, right?

No?

What? You mean I have to close this thread?

Ah, geez, guys . . .
