actually I've wanted all three listed for a long time but I just couldn't make a decision.
Well in that case I would advise you to get all of them...starting with the M1Car. All are great rifles, the only difference between the Carbine and the other two is it's better. :D

Well I will eventualy

i just bought i wasr 10 for $550...so far i have had no problems with it.. and alot more accurate than i thought it would be.... im about to get a maverick 88 security shotgun it comes with a but stock and a pistol grip with a 18.5 in barrell for $250

Well the M1 Carbine won and that's what I'm going with. Now to figure out which one I want. I'm diggin' the thought of a Winchester but I highly doubt I'll be able to find one for $550. Maybe a Universal?

You're not hitting on much and getting worse. The early Universals are alright, but still not up to GI, the later generations are downright dangerous. Winchester is alright, but about the worst of the USGI carbines as far as fit and machining (though they work just fine), and cost a good bit more ($100-200). I would also advise you not to go with a Plainfield or a new T/C, bu they aren't as bad as the Universals. I would go with any USGI that I could find a good deal on. Inland are by far the most common and are very good quality. Personally I would like to have an IBM (International Business Machines), or perhaps a National Postal Meter (because my father owned one), but all are interesting in their own way. The Inland and Saginaw are both divisions of GM, making them unique as well. :)

Thanks Mav. I looked up some Universal reviews after I posted that and realized it wasn't the best idea lol. I've heard a lot of good things about the Inlands so I'm going to try to find a good deal on one, if not I'll look for good deals on any usgis like you said.

P.S. Found my front sight lol
