When are the beavertails from glock on the market?

They're keeping it pretty hush hush for some reason :confused:


They announced them at 2011 Shot but they never released them. Odd.

Is there a large demand from Glock owners who are suffering from hammer bite?
 
Yeah, I don't get it. I just saw the pic and started laughing out loud. What the heck?
 
I think it "fixes" the grip angle for those who dont know how to grip a Glock properly.

I shoot with people in competition who get slide bite from their Glocks, as well as Glock knuckle. It has nothing to do with not knowing how to grip a Glock, and everything to do with not everyone's hands being the same shape or size.

But since you're a pro, tell us all how to grip the Glock properly...:rolleyes:

totally agree! i shoot a glock 22 in competition and my hand sits just high enough that the slide constantly rubs all the skin off the top of my thumb knuckle.
 
I don't see how people can laugh at an accessory that helps somebody shoot better, regardless of what gun it goes on.

If you're laughing at this, what mods have you made to your--oh, I don't know--1911? Do they help you shoot it better?

If so, stop laughing. It's not high road.
 
I really can't see how you can get your knuckle behind the slide. Your knuckle should be around the corner alongside the slide not behind it. I get little black marks on the top of my hand between the thumb and index finger on my shooting hand. No scratches though.

I have just a slight gap between slide and hand with a very aggressive grip.

I *think* he is talking about where the trigger guard bounces off your middle finger knuckle
 
I have large, long boned hands with very loose joints.

Whether I'm too stupid, or ergonomically incompatible, the result is the same. Glocks just don't fit my hand well.

The way my hand compresses, it lines the first joint of the thumb up with the corner of the slide. Glock is the source of the only slide bites I've ever had, and the aim of the slide is one of the first things I check with any semi-auto before firing.

I wouldn't mind a Glock with a built-in beavertail, but I have a serious distaste for sticking "things" on my guns, making the aftermarket one unpalatable for me.
 
Ok. That didn't seem possible. I guess it is possible! Do you line the handgun up with the centerline of your forearm?

But how does you middle finger knuckle hit the trigger guard? I can't even get mine close to hitting it.
The middle finger knuckle should be alongside the grip not in front.

I don't own any 1911s. Just seems to me that anyone who would go through the trouble to put this on their Glock should just trade it for a M&P. The Glock is a Glock. There are too many other affordable and reliable polymer pistols on the market to really have to do this IMO. Other than maybe sights, I don't mod my handguns with the intent to make them be something they are not.
