My initial instinct is to respond with a smart arsed reply like "Try invading my home and find out"!
However just like fellow Alaskan Spiff, it's within arms reach.
In addition to having a light weight minor caliber (.32ACP, .32Mag, .380ACP, etc.), I also have a full-size major caliber (9mm and up) firearm secured in a gun vault from V-Line
in just about every room of the house. The vault is bolted down so it can't easily walk off and it's hidden from plain sight so unless you know where it is, you won't be able to easily spot it. Yet it gives me quick access to a firearm.
In my opinion, one of the worst things that can happen is to have someone break in and have that person be between you and your firearm.
Not trying to be a wise guy or anything, but which one?
I have an always gun, a middle sized gun that goes with me during the night, and a home gun (which is strategically placed.) There are other home handguns also strategically placed.
Then there is a shotgun in the home...and a long gun in the home.
All are loaded and ready to go at a moment's notice.
