Where are the ranges in Huntsville/Madison County?

I'm going down there this weekend and would like to get in some range time while there.

Larry's pistol parlor. They rent handguns and have a range. I've never shot there, but they have an outstanding amount of used firearms.

As stated, Larry's Pistol and Pawn on the North Parkway; for pistols and revolvers only.

For rifles etc. there's Swan Creek, which may or may not be open. It's located off Hwy 31 between Decatur and Athens. On Hwy 31, go west at the intersection with the Caterpiller dealership (left going north, right going south). Keep going through 2 90 degree curves, first right, then left, then take the first right after the creek, about a mile from the left 90 degree curve. Requires an Alabama state hunting license.

Blue and Gray is located at the Guntersville Dam, but requires a membership, if you have to ask where it's located, you're not a member and can't get in. There may be a high power rifle match this Saturday, however. GD is about 20 miles from Hsv. on Hwy 431 towards Guntersville; go right at the GD sign, then the first left at a paved road (about 3 miles or so).

Shucks, I was just in Huntsville a few weeks ago. Looks like I would've been well served to make this topic.

My neck of the woods!! Larry's is great and easy to find, and they have a whole, whole lot of guns. But if you are in on a Saturday or Sunday, the Madison County Shooting Sports Association is open to the public from 10am to 3pm. We have skeet, trap and a 50yd pistol range. PM me for directions.

Oh, and if you buy your shells at Larry's they let you shoot their guns for free..

I've been in Huntsville a few times and have happened upon Larry's by accident. What a cool store! Many of the long guns are just sitting out, and they even encourage you to pick up and fondle something that looks nice to you.
