I have a Win 52B Miroku from the 80's its a tack driver and looks amazing.

As I understand the OP's original quest, he prefers early 52's, which is understandable from a collector standpoint but will consider a post WWII model. Which in fact would be my recommendation for target shooting as they have significant advantages over the early "A" types. Here are a couple post WWII 52's including a "C" model above and "B" model below. (Also more views of the "C" model) Both have Marksman style stocks, which are an advantage in position shooting. Both have significantly better triggers for target shooting, especially the C model, which is easily adjustable to beautifully light and crisp letoff. 52's were long time staples on target ranges and there are still quite a few of them around that can be picked up at decent prices. But many have been modified by previous owners, which may at the time made them more shootable but now reduces the value, often substantially. Which is something to watch out for when shopping for 52's. A good set of sights like these shown here adds value.

Beautiful rifles!
Figuring out how much I don't know first, for sure.
Don't want to spend a grand or so on a rifle only to find out I need a $500 sight for it to be correct. I did see where the biggest trigger improvement was in the 52C, which was a couple years post-war. Being kind of a trigger snob, I may look really hard for one of those.
