I'm going to add some night sights to my G19 and/or my G26. What would you recommend as far as a manufacturer goes. I know that Trijicon are solid products, but what about Meprolight and other companies?

Thanks in Advance.

I cant stand Straight-Eights.

Meprolights and Trijicons are fine.

If it were up to me I'd get the Tru-Glo TFO's.

i like the Trijicons, and have alot of exoerience with them and meprolights, and as a matter oof fact on glocks a 19 to be exact. i too do not care for the straight 8's but that is a personal opinion. i think on the 26 a set of xs24/7 sights would be great, they are quick on target, and put the rds on target. i had a set on my glock 19 and liked them alot. great for hd/sd/ ccw IMO. but on a service size gun i would rather have a set of three dots, because they are more precise, and i can put them even tighter and hit smaller targets at longer ranges. and even if the engagement is extrememly close, it is too easy to use the front dot of the trijicons or meprolights like a big dot, kinda like shooting an ar with the front sight post only.
so i vote for
xs 24/7's on model 26
meprolights or trijicons on the 19.

I agree with what Possum said. I bought a used G19 W/ XS Big Dot tritium sights already on it. They are excellent sights but I am just a better shooter with the Meprolights. I tried very hard to get used to the Big Dots , but I guess I am just a 3 dot type of guy. It all comes down to what you like and how well you shoot with them. The Meps claim on the package to be resistant to solvent immersion for 48 hours. They are also brighter than the XS Big Dots. Let us know what you decide .

I use an MMC adjustable rear with three bar tritiums instead of dots and a Meprolight front sight on my G19. No special tritium colors, all green.
Combo works great for me on this pistol.

I usually recommend Meprolights. I have them on a majority of my Glocks. My G37 and 38 both sport Ameriglos and they're nice too. One of my 19s now has Truglo Tritium Fiber Optic night sights. I believe I like these best. The fiber optic part gives you about the same sight picture in daylight as you would see at night. I normally don't like contrasting front and back, but I accidentally ordered green front and yellow rears with the Truglos and they work out well. I have green front/red rears on my S&W 457 and find it difficult to quickly align the sights (could be me, so I'm hesitant to blame the sights totally). I would recommend the brightest color be out front (that's usually green). Sig Blackwater 226s came with red fronts and green rears and there were quite a bit on complaints sight acquisition.
