Will dry firing hurt my H&K P2000SK?

Do I need snap caps? Will dry firing hurt my P2000SK? The problem with snap caps is that in order to practice the 8 lb trigger pull (it is a V2 LEM DAO), I need to cock the slide each time, which ejects a snap caps. Then I have to reload the clip after all 5 are ejected and it gets annoying. Also, the snap caps are getting worn from being fed so many times.

I'm not sure, but can't you just rack the slide 1/2 inch or so to reset the trigger?

While I don't personally own a P2000SK a general rule of thumb is that dry fire is safe for modern centerfire pistols. I'll let someone who has one speak more definitively.

Agreed.

For the case/snap cap ejection issue, on most trigger actions of this type the slide does not have to fully cycle, i.e., run back and forth to its travel stops, to reset the trigger. Experiment to see how far the slide has to actually be drawn back to reset the trigger. Usually this is only about half an inch. You may not have to pull the slide back far enough to eject the case/snap cap every time.

I use snap caps in every firearm I own.

After you dry fire pull the trigger half back and cock the hammer with your thumb. That will reset the trigger back to the light pull.
