Grandpa sold me a gun, and I'm wondering if I got taken-

Win. Model 1912 (1912 stamped on the Gun) 20g.
2 barrels ( Cyl and Full)
S/N: 134xxx (Mfg. 1916)
Receiver and both barrels have same SN.
I gave grandpa 16 big bills for it.

No, probably not taken, if the gun is in really really great condition.

Still, $1,600 is a lot of money for a Standard grade Model 12 20 ga, even with two barrels.

Need more info & pictures to really answer your question though.

Great guns but, check the chamber length. Some of the early guns had short chambers;IE, 20 ga.=2 1/2", 16 ga.=2 9/16( I know I have a 1912 in 16 ga. that is short chambered). Another question that can raise value: Are all 3 pieces serial numbered the same? If they are, that makes it worth a lot more.

Look at it this way. You have purchased a priceless family heirloom and a piece of "American" shotgun history for a mere $1600. Thus avoiding a squabble over who gets it when he passes, and the comfort of knowing the money made his life a little easier while he's here. :)

gramps gun

BTW the solid rib barrels are a big plus over standard field grade gun....
Yours also has a replaced buttstock, Early butt stocks are not to hard to find but can be pricey in v-good condition.......but if gramps needed the money its an Good deal...
