I guess what day of the week the gun was made might not be a joke. I have a pre-64 and a post-64, (probably early '70's) the pre-gun is very nice (1949) but the post-64 is not that far behind. Also have a friend who has an angle-eject in .375Win, and wow that gun is top-notch in fit and finish, the wood is very nice, and I'd say the action feels as nice and is a little tighter than my pre-64. Must have been made on a Wednesday. I'm surprised there are any guns for sale right now, but $500 does not sound that outrageous all things considered, especially if it's in nice shape.
