WOO HOO!! I'm Trying A Rock Island 1911

Today I put money down on a Rock Island Compact 1911. While I was at it I grabbed a new set of Crimson Trace grips for it.

I had a difficult time deciding between the full size and the compact, as they had both in stock. I already have a SA Loaded, so, I went for the compact. The only drawback is I think I am going to back out on getting a Keltec PF-9 and put the money I have on it towards another set of CT grips.

Price of gun - $419, price of CT grips - $195, adding another steed to the stable - priceless.

My local dealer has a Rock Island 1911 in the rack for $539.... I may go take a closer look at it this weekend.

Shop around...you should be able to find them about $100 less than that using the 'web.

Believe it or not, I had been gloating about my RIA Compact on some gun forum, and a guy PM'd me, offering me a set of used Lasergrips for $155. I jumped on 'em like a horny chimp, and been using them ever since. Deals are out there, sometimes they come right to ya.

Whenever Old Man Opportunity knocks, I always listen to what he says, but he likes to be a trickster too, ya know.
