I just ran across a 1984 BRNO 601 in 243 cal with the barrel stamp of Bauska Arms Corp. Kalispell, Montana. It is supposidly unfired has all the papers, wrench and extra trigger in a model 600 box. It has the cz stamp in the circle. They are asking 449.00 for this rifle. The rifle looks decent and has been tempting me to add to my collection but I don't know muck about the Brno's. what say you
thanks

Allen in MT - YOU WILL HATE IT. So, please give me the contact info of the shop so that I can get it out of your sight to save you the pain and heartache, etc. Much obliged...

My BRNO 308 is a sweetie.

I always kinda keep an eye out for other BRNOs either military or sporter.

if you have the cash go get it now sir! :)

As advised elsewhere, you should buy it if you have any use for it. You can't go wrong if it's as described. Good find!

I have a Brno ZKK .602 .375 I bought new in 1990, also with the Bauska Arms Corp mark. Love it, not for sale. I am surprised you saw a 1984 Brno with a American importers mark on it. I didn't think they where legal to import into the US at that time. What makes you think it's a 1984?

Well thats interesting because my 1990 Brno has nothing I could interpet as a date stamp. Nor is CZ marked anywhere on it.
Is it Stamped Brno 601 on the receiver?

Allen, have any pics?

I only have one Brno, it's a very entry level .22 but I have enjoyed it since purchasing. Its a ZKM468 garden rifle. A very accurate single shot.

agtman- Beautiful stock on that 602. How did you acquire it?
And yes Allan needs to provide pics. A dozen to start. I realy what to see this gun.

Here's a couple of pics. I had a Leupold 6.5-20 laying around so got it mounted but haven't had time to get out to see how it prints. Probably a little over kill for a 243 scope. It came with the factory target that was shot at 100 meters, extra trigger and tool along with owners manual and 600 box, this is a 601.

Thanks, Jim ... Well, it's the original factory stock. The 'smith just re-contoured it to get rid of the European "hog-back" profile. Then he added cross bolts, a traditional Pachmyr big-game decelerator, some sort of blackhorn nose piece, re-checkered it, and then sanded it well and re-finished it.

Brno? Count me in.

Sure, it might be stretching the parameters of the thread but I love my largest of Brno "shotguns".

Too much fun!

Soon, it's gonna be my ACME drone dis-abler!

Whaaat? Nice man! That looks larger than 12ga, or am I way off?

Looks like some odd European grenade launcher LOL :)

Its an RV85, 26.5mm flare launcher, line launcher... trouble maker.

Gott love the stuff that comes out of Brno!

Well those markings on the ring look exactly like mine, but of course mine says 602. I can clearly make out the 84 on the left side of the barrel and receiver but not the mark ahead of it. Is that a CZ mark? It looks like the area I would expect to find proof marks.

When I read that some Brno made rifles are very good I had to get one.

They have style and butter knife bolt handles.

Here is one that I got recently.

GEDC0026.jpg

It's a 21h model in 7x57 with a 20.5" barrel. I had a Dakota m 70 type safety added which was over doing it.
The scope I put on is a Leu. Compact 3-9 which fits just right in the factory mount.

The rifle weighs 7# 3oz and came with that after market trigger.

A fine old rifle from europe.

Savage- that is a gorgeous gun and in 7x57 yet, one of my favorites. Is it a double square top gun like the ZKK series?
