I know, I know, why would I do such a thing? Well, I've lusted after these things for as long as I can remember. I'll be an SOT shortly, but even the dealer samples of a real 93R are well North of $20K:confused:

That's the why. These things are dimensionally accurate airgun replicas of the real deal, so I'll reverse-engineer all the bits that would be the same as the real thing and carve a post sample out of 4142HT. Haven't yet established if I can get proper internals for it, or if I'll have to make those as well, but this is the start of something beautiful :D

The way I see it, I can't lose on this one. Even if I give up my 07/02 one day, I think an exact replica post sample could sell for a real pretty penny, so I'm goin' for it. Of all the post samples out there one could do, I think these are one of the coolest!

Oh, but I will not be doing a 3 rd burst like the original. It'll be select fire semi & full auto.

Stay tuned! The project will commence before I actually have my SOT, since there is MUCH to be done before it's a functional weapon in any capacity.

I always enjoy your build threads, and I am sure this will not be an exception. Looking forward to more.
 
I'm curious whether the 92 and 93 are different enough to justify starting from scratch.

They're very different. A 92FS can be converted, but that doesn't make it a 93R. This is not about just having machine pistol post sample; I could buy a G17 and conversion kit for about $700 total. It's about having the iconic 93R that I want, which will bring much attention to my business, and which can likely be sold to another SOT for a princely sum if I ever give up my license. It's well worth the time & sweat equity IMO.

Makes sense then, sometimes that's all the justification you need. Based on the other projects you've shared, I'm sure it'll be a beauty.
 
Have always had a certain fondness for the Beretta Model 93R Raffica. Will definitely be following this build intently!
 
I have extensive experience with this specific airsoft pistol. It is very cool while it works, but it beats Its self to death in short order if you don't keep it very well lubricated and clean, and replace/buffer the return spring.

The burst mechanism is very interesting and can't be much different from how the real one works. A very cool project for sure.
 
I have had several KSC m93rs as well, and RevolvingGarbage is right. The new ns2 ones work better than the II version (the one in the OP), but the II version was a little more accurately designed from what I can gather. I'm definitely looking forward to this build!
