Time for another update.......... In late March I picked up my buddies lightly used Weatherby Vanguard in .257 Weatherby...... I load his ammo for it and I know the gun and I know how it shoots..... He put a Riflebasix trigger in it, and put it in a Bell & Carlson stock with an aluminum bedding block. I got it with the dies, lots of brass, a couple pounds of powder, a couple hundred bullets, and the Warne scope rings, ( he kept the scope that was on it). I put a 3-9x Simmons 8 point scope on it that I had laying around.... Don't laugh...... I know a Weatherby should have some better optics but this is only temporary....... The weather finally stopped raining, snowing and sleeting and the temps got up into the 50's today and the sun was out. Put 18 rounds through it, some over the chrono and some to verify zero. It feels real good and I only have about one picture of it so far that's half-way decent, even if it does seem out of place to have that Simmons scope on a Weatherby. But not for long if I can help it. IMG_1572 (2).JPG

Picked up this nice Winchester model 62a made in 1954 at the Tulsa show a few weeks ago. I got one just like it for my 13th birthday in 1958 and it was my favorite plinking and small game gun. My old man sold it while I was in the service and I never forgave him for doing so. I arranged it with some period Winchester catalogs and ads along the the usual junk a kid might have had in his pocket back then like a Lone Ranger Barlow knife, official badge, and silver bullet, compass, some change, strike anywhere pocket matches, and of course plenty of 22 cartridges.

Also just inherited from my grandfather a Winchester M61 and a Remington Target Master 510 in decent shape. And got a Ruger BlackHawk 45 from my dad I bought him for father's day in 1981. Moving them into assisted living they had to shed the firearms of course.

Bought a Springfield Range Officer Elite Champion in 9mm back at the end of Feb. Love it. Getting close to 1000 rounds through it. Not one failure.

Hi...
Won an auction a couple of weeks ago for a Thompson Contender in .45Colt.
Had to give $400.
This past Saturday I bought a mid-80s Remington M700 in .270 for my son. Excellent condition with only a couple minor marks on the magazine floor plate.
Real nice walnut stock and no marks on the bluing other than the floor plate.
Gave $650... I wouldn't have have given that much except the bore is bright and shiny, the stock has nice color and figure and the metal bluing is unworn and not scratched up.

I have been looking at one myself.
Took a bit to get used to. All my other pistols I done trigger work to so they are smooth and the right weight. I like about a 3lb break on a single action. The DW Heritage is the ONLY pistol I've owned that NOTHING was required! It came from the factory with a 2lb pull and if you're not ready, your bang hook better not be on the trigger!!!
