I wanted another Glock and I have always wanted a pair of matching auto pistols so I got a Glock 45. I just picked it up today so I haven’t fired it yet.

Pray let us know if you ever have occasion to actually utilize those fugly front cocking serrations on the 45 ... seriously (I've been watching Glock shooters at IDPA events for years to see if/how they're doing press-checks ... ) and uh (why is a 9mm pistol named "45?"}

My 19x is the best shooting Glock that I own, so that one’s a keeper.

I can live with or without the front cocking serrations on any gun. But if I could live with front cocking serrations on 2 of my 1911’s, then I darn sure could live with them on a Glock Model 45!

The front cocking idea? To press check? All you have to do on a Glock, to check if there is a round chambered (and you can do this while the pistol is holstered, I do) run your thumb across the extractor.
Reference front cocking? Did anyone note the bullet comes out of that end? Had a Buddy in Canada, he was a South African, shot the tip off a finger, press checking a Colt 1911! He does not do that anymore.

It’s simple really. If you don’t like front serrations then don’t buy a gun with front serrations.

They named it the “45” because it was the next number in line in their numbering sequence.

Color, grip/barrel configuration (that is offered by nearly every other manufacturer, seriously), front serrations, freaking model number.

Haters just gotta hate.

Sorry that frame to slide gap is horrendous on that G45. Hopefully its not an issue with that particular gun. The ones Ive seen at the LGS had the normal glock "gap".

I like the desert tan Glocks, they look neat compared to the utility-plain black ones. But, since I have a 19, 17, 34 and 17L, I think I'm all Glocked up for a while...

Stay safe!

I'm sorry but the 19X just looks backwards to me.

The logic of a shorter barrel and full grip makes sense for a cop so you can sit comfortably but still have the full mag capacity. For my purposes this configuration makes no sense, though. If I want to conceal it I'd want the shorter 15 round grip. Or if I didn't want to conceal it I'd want a longer barrel for more velocity and a longer sight radius. Just my opinion of course.

Not a hater. Just messin' with the Glock guys, who always bust into all the other threads about other manufacturers and platforms suggesting that what the OP secretly wants and absolutely needs, despite not even mentioning the G-word, is ... a Glock.

Mentioning that I think the 45 is ugly isn't being a "hater." Besides, I kinda like the 19X and have been shooting one quite a bit.

Well, it IS ugly. :)

You can look at the gun and see the casing in the chamber

To the OP: cool. Do you plan on changing out the baseplates on the 45 mags so they'll work for other pistols?

Thank you. Yes, I will change the base plates on the Gen 5 mags. I thought about trimming the mag well of the 19X but decided to leave it alone.

For those of you that think Glocks are ugly, I do too. But I love ‘em. They aren’t sexy. They aren’t pretty. They are what they are.

Ugly Guns Matter! :D

I just realized that what looks like frame gap is actually the reflection of the frame rail from the flask going off when I took the photos. I got the guns out and looked at them a little while ago.

I love my 19X and bought a G45 also. Next week I’ll qualify with the G45 to carry on and off duty.
I already replaced the sights on my G45 with AmeriGlo night sights.
I find it funny that people complain about the short slide with the long grip on these two guns. But every time I see one of the other brand guns that have the shorter grip with a longer slide, it has a grip extension with a longer mag, making it basically the same size gun as the 19X and G45.

I like the night sights on the 19X. Let us know what you think of the AmeriGlo’s vs the Glock Night Sights.

I plan to shoot my new G45 tomorrow along with my 19X. Should be fun.

It's just too bad that the 19x isn't actually the same as the gun submitted for the modular weapons system contract - it would interesting to own one that's just like a piece of history - the real ones submitted with manual safety. Otherwise, it's a big ho-hum for me.

Every time someone has started a topic on the 19X or the G45 it takes less then one page for members to take the Low Road.
What other guns do members post about where this happens? Just think about it. If ever time someone started a post about a gun they just got and about half the replies were about negative, this forum would no longer be The High Road.
I’m surprised that someone has never started a topic on why they don’t like the 19X or the G45. Or is it that no one would really care if you don’t like them.
Most of the bashing on thes two pistols are over personal dislikes and have nothing to do with the performance.

The AmeriGlo sights are nice, I use the standard. I fill they run a close 2ne to Trijicon, but a better value for your money.
