I was trying to buy from a semi local store. I was in town Christmas shopping.Hornady and Barnes make 5.56 specific match also at Midwayusa.com
Prvi and Federal make .223 Match that can be fired (with varying accuracy) in a 5.56 chamber.
Brownells has the Hornady Frontier brand in match along with various Black Hills match loads plus a new company named Reaper making some in 5.56.
Sorry.I was trying to buy from a semi local store. I was in town Christmas shopping.
I will be making a order from Midway or Mid south soon. I just try to keep our local guys in business when I can.Sorry.
I did see some of those. You might also try some Fiocchi Extrema 50 gr V-Max ammo. It is priced right in 50 round boxes and has shot very well for me in twist rates from 1 in 12" to 1 in 8" and barrel lengths from 16" to 26".

Are the 77SMK easier to get accuracy from in the AR?I have had the besty results with Hornady 75 grain BTHP match and Black Hills 77 grain SMK (MK 2262 in the military).
My Larue and Barnes Precision AR's create 1 ragged hole at 100 meters with the 77's. My Mossberg MVP and a AR I built with a DPMS barrel prefer the 75 Hornady. Are the 77SMK easier to get accuracy from in the AR?
My 68 and 75gr handloads were much better than the Hornady factory.
If they are, I may have to try them.
So it's the old it depends on the gunMy Larue and Barnes Precision AR's create 1 ragged hole at 100 meters with the 77's. My Mossberg MVP and a AR I built with a DPMS barrel prefer the 75 Hornady.
Yep. Guns can be picky- even 2 "identical" guns can have preferences. So it's the old it depends on the gun
I stuck 5 more in each target and the fiochi stayed the same size, with the hornady black almost doubling in size.
I can't blame the bullet because the velocity was all over the place on the Hornady.
I was looking for something to base the accuracy of my reloads on.I find PMC acceptable for a factory loading. It does not deliver the velocity of the 5.56 clone ammo but for a full metal jacket bullet, it's not bad. .223 ammo is easy to reload if you should ever want to make the investment. You get to decide what makes it work in your rifle and what does not.

I was looking for something to base the accuracy of my reloads on.
I figured if something ran really well, I would try to match it.
I tried PMC 55fmj 3", AE 55fmj 3.5", Monarch 55sp 2", silver bear 62hp 6", Hornady black 4", and fiocchi 77smk 1.5".My 3rd paragraph covers a factory load that may meet your demands but here is what I found doing a similar search. I also like the PMC ammo because the brass is so nice to reload.
I pulled a PMC bullet/case apart and weighed the powder. It was 24.6 grains of something that looks like H335. On the PMC box the advertised speed is 2980 FPS or something similar to that. I have shot a lot of H335 and it works well. But, the best AR plinking load I have "discovered" is 24.6 grains of IMR 3031 with a 55 grain soft point loaded just a tad long in the case to get the bullet closer to the lands. I don't have a chrono to measure speed but I imagine the 24.6 grains of 3031 is real close to the same load of H335. I have found the faster burning powders get me the best accuracy.
I think the best way to get the accuracy you want is to switch your bullet from the FMJ to the soft points loaded just a little long to take up just under the inside length of the magazine so it doesn't drag on the inside of the magazine but it gets the bullet closer to the lands. I have been happy with that technique. My next favorite load is 24.8 to 25.4 grains of AA2230 depending on what speed I am trying to achieve and the length of barrel I am shooting out of with the same 55 grain soft point bullet loaded slightly long. I have not found a FMJ to meet the same accuracy as the soft points. (preferably the Hornady 55 grain SP bullets)
If you haven't already done it, get yourself a collet puller and weigh the powder out of some of your favorite factory loads. Defining what exactly the powder is, is mostly guess work but at least you know the weight. As for factory ammo that I really like only one comes to mind and that is Geco, a German brand. When I pulled one of them apart it's 25.5 grains of something that looks like H335 or Winchester 748. But, here again, I do not know what powder it actually is. I have not seen it on a shelf for ages, locally. I don't know if it is still being imported.
Beyond that, I haven't shot much factory ammo because I can make my own reloads and accuracy of the factory stuff doesn't meet my accuracy demands. The Geco is the exception but I can no longer find it locally and I am only guessing at the powder variety. I just know it's weight. Good luck.

I tried PMC 55fmj 3", AE 55fmj 3.5", Monarch 55sp 2", silver bear 62hp 6", Hornady black 4", and fiocchi 77smk 1.5".
My 52 HP reloads are 1.25. My 68 and 75 gr are running 1-1.5". I notice fewer flyers with my reloads except for the fiocchi match which is 1 dollar per shot.
