We were actually doe hunting this morning and had spotted a gorgeous mature mule deer buck. While watching him I noticed a coyote milling around.
I lip squeaked him in from about 500 yards to 246 yards. The kidlet hit him with her new Steyr Scout chambered in 6.5 CM. He was facing us and she hit him in the upper chest killing him instantly with a 129 Gr Accubond Long Range bullet.
First blood for what is sure to be the first of many. Now to see if we can find a doe or two this afternoon.
