I was digging in the back yard last week and found an old single action revolver. It's rusted very evenly but no real damage. I haven't identified it yet, none of the markings are visible through the rust. I'm guessing it chambered in a .38 caiber close as I can tell, birdshead grip and flat hammer spring. I washed it in distilled water an dried very well. Any tips on removing the rust from it? Also any guesses on what it is?
