Been shopping for a 9mm to carry on road trips. Picked up a Canik TP9DA based on shooting a friend's. Seems to be a reliable handgun.

Got a buy one get two free deal. Top to bottom is a Smith and Wesson Model 15-3, a H&R 929 I believe, and an Iver Johnson in 32 S&W. Both the Iver Johnson and H&R have function issues. The 15-3 has serial number matching stocks which was a very pleasant surprise.
Beautiful pistol.. Nice caliber..Merry Christmas to me....... Cimarron Thunderball .357/38 cal. I have some pearl material on order to make some "Doc" style Lightning grips.

I have an SF, it's tied as my favorite pistol. I have about 3 k rounds (9 brands) through it, not a failure of any kind. They are definetely service grade guns, which makes sense, because various military and law enfocement use it. I never would have paid any attention to it because they are so inexpensive, but my instructor (Frontsight and former RCMP hostage situation trooper) carries one daily. I went to the gunshop to buy another pistol, but the grip made me jerk right every pull, so I tried the Canik - angels and choir music instantly. Great trigger, great grip.I've got an SFX and a SF, both have been flawless. The SFX has almost 5k rounds through it.
...... That was from my post number 10702, back on Nov. 11th in reference to the Luger & the recently acquired P-38. Finally got around to getting a halfway decent group photo.
Came out good: View attachment 879764

......... Thanks for the compliment. Always wanted one of each. They're both G.I. bring backs and they both came back in P-38 Holsters. My late uncle didn't have a holster for that Luger so he put it into a P-38 Holster he got from another G.I. to bring it home in. The P-38 came to me with the proper holster that it came here in. So now I have two WW2 P38 holsters. One of each style. Did some research on them. Two main types; the black one's called a hardshell & the brown one's a softshell. Can only make out one small German acceptance marking on the inside of the softshell, but the hardshell is 1943 dated with makers code and acceptance stamps easily visible. And now there's a "group photo" of the holsters. & markings- soft shell under flap: and the back of the hardshell: .Now that is just old world kick butt elegance..
Love the holsters, nice combo.. Amazed that that acceptance marked survived as well as it did considering all its gone through.. As of late I am liking those softshell holsters more and more, they are just so minimal compared to the hard shell holsters.......... Thanks for the compliment. Always wanted one of each.
