I believe you should already have years worth of guns and ammo before signs of world wide panic but is anybody throwing an extra log on the fire and adding to their guns or ammo stock because of the recent events? Or are you buying less guns and ammo and stocking up on water and supplies? Or are you just sitting back watching the hysteria and not worrying about it?

The current situation is different than just a plain ammo shortage but could also lead to an ammo shortage.

Poll closes in 2 weeks.

I already have what I need to last a protracted invasion. I am not concerned in the least about needing more guns or ammo, but toothpaste and toilet paper that's another matter. After having weathered several hurricanes, you learn what supplies are more necessity than others.

I am buying some quality airborn rated face masks (Amazon) mainly because I don’t have any and think it could be beneficial. Otherwise, we stay pretty well stocked on stuff....I was born and raised in New England...we always had a cellar full of canned goods and some meds in case we got snowed in back in the day...

I know how people think so that's why I included: "Be cool. This is all media hype" as an option.:)

The rest of the world is not the USA, and the outbreak in the rest of the world compared to the US is the difference between Socialized Medicine and what we have here. This is all anti-Trump media hype in an election year.

The "outbreak" is not going to be anything beyond a back page article here. If Comrade Obama was still Prez, the MSM would barely mention it. Epic Fail.

If you waited till now to start stocking you are already waaaay behind the curve.

Barring a sea change in my life philosophy I doubt very seriously that I will ever buy another gun.

Regardless of current events I will continue to purchase ammunition and magazines for the guns that I have according to the plan that I've had in place for probably 10 years

This.

I’m not changing plans because of the bug, having said that there’s a plan to buy another handgun and or more ammo this spring so it’s stay the course.

Panic buying for any reason is just silly. If you feel the need to have a stockpile, and I do, then buy supplies in a steady stream and shoot less than you buy. I have been steadily adding primers and powder to my pile for some time.

If you want to be prepared for this latest health issue, first, stop letting the media panic you. It's ridiculous. Every year something like 225,000 and up to 600,000 people die world wide from influenza. It sounds like most people in good health will experience a bad cold. Maybe walking pneumonia. Maybe plan to have kids home from school for a few days. Maybe throw a few extra dry goods in the pantry in case avoiding public places is encouraged. Maybe plan to work from home if you can.

More guns isn't going to help anything. More ammo isn't either. This isn't the black death, and even if it was what benefit are extra guns going to have?

Fear mongering is not helpful.
