Beautiful stick. It is much stouter than I am used to seeing.

I carry a cane regularly, for several reasons, not the least of which is that it's legal anywhere and everywhere. When woods walking I carry a 48-50 inch stick. All my sticks and canes are home made of either Hickory, Maple, Ash or Locust all capable of good hard strikes and all tipped with a copper pipe cap and the canes then have a rubber crutch tip over the cap.

I carry the Cold Steel City Stick with the aluminum pistol grip head. It's ridiculously strong, and the head gives good heft. They used to have a carbon fiber version called the Slim Stick. The inside was almost exactly .25 inches, and in a fit of creativity I bought a .250 T5 titanium rod and epoxied it into the stick. The head fell off when I hit something with it (I think it was a telephone/utility pole) and so it's not currently in use, but I've got a silver aluminum fritz-style handle I'll attach when I find a bolt the right size. Carbon fiber and titanium: it's other-worldly strong, but light as can be.

Oh, also, I got another great hiking staff as a gift for my mother (66 and walking five to ten miles a day!) from Olde Shillelagh, but I forgot to take a picture. Should be able to get one this weekend...

Yeah, it took several weeks to get here after the shipping notice, and tracking updates stopped once it was turned over to USPS in New York...
