Random Guy
I know someone that recently got themselves a new CCW, this particular person probably gets a new CCW every couple years. It kind of got me to thinking I’ve had the same primary carry gun for at least 13 years now. Apparently, as I’ve talked to some of my shooting buddies I’m the odd one out to use the same gun for that long.
I’ve had 3-4 different ones I used for bugs and Sunday attire, but my primary weapon, a KAHR PM45 hasn’t changed in a good long time. Personally I’m fine with that but I just got to wondering just how long most people use their CCW before replacing it.
I don’t imagine many of us replace our weapon because we’ve worn it out, so apparently many people replace what has been a perfectly fine gun, which is fine.
I’ve recently been considering swapping to a S&W model 36 or maybe a Detective special. Just because I enjoy the history and have recently been more into revolver shooting.
Anyway, it got me curious as to how long others carry the same gun before replacing or retiring it. I’m also curious as to why people change.
