What is the LEAST fun gun you ever fired, one that hurt you

I look at those 12 gauge no stock shotguns like the Shockwave and this is literally me:

Interestingly I've shot the Shockwave and it's is not that bad, because the "grip" is more aligned with the bore. It's like shooting a traditional-stocked shotgun from the hip, which is fine. The PGO "pistol grip," on the other hand, transfers all of that recoil directly into your thumb.

Have never had hammer bite or slide bite even shooting PPKs or High Powers. Have read much about it but have never come close. I must have a weird grip or boney hands?

Neither have I. Improper grip is the cause. It's not like you don't know exactly where the slide or hammer is going to go. Most folks these days use a two handed thumb high grip which was not used when those guns were designed. Trick is to keep your thumb down against the middle and ring finger.

2 rounds of trap with an Auto-5 while wearing just a tee shirt was enough for me. Bruised for a week.

Coincidentally I have a Remington model 11 and even with the spring set up for heavy loads, that thing kicks the crap out of me every time. Had a family friend's wife take one shot with it and instantly handed it back to me, done.

"Perception" is everything when it comes to recoil. :D
I feel bad, but it had to be said as a joke. Someone mentioned the horrors of a 10/22 earlier. Also, I was channeling the liberal journalist who went and shot a AR-15 and wrote of the horrors. To be fair, that's a lot more stout than a .22 LR.

First 2 handguns I ever fired (both on the same day) was my uncle's Python with factory .357's and my father's Series 70 .45acp, both heavy recoiling guns for a budding 8 year old.

I was hooked!

First handgun I purchased was a S&W 629 when I turned 18.

Loved that recoil and again, I was hooked.

My idea of a good time at the range is a few hours with a 642.

Trigger slap from an AK, especially on a cold day, sucks.

My buddy once slipped a 3½" shell in on me when I wasn't looking as a joke; sucked.

Many, tiny .32, .380's are pretty rough and potentially suck.

But the worst one of all was a friend's Springfield XDS .45acp!

I can only assume it has something to do with the physical dimensions of my hand but I swore then and there to never pick up another one!
Brutal little monster

ETA: Honorable mention, those little H&R/NEF single shot 12/20 gauge shotguns have probably knocked some fillings loose over the years too.

I've shot some heavy kickers, but the only one that actually hurt me was a simple 30-30 with a factory deer load. (bruised shoulder, even with a good hold) If I ever go deer hunting again, I'll probably carry either my Marlin 1895 in 44 Mag or my Remington 788 bolt gun in 6 mm Rem. (either one with handloads)

The bolt action 50 BMG I shot once had more recoil, but didn't hurt for some reason. (muzzle brake?)

Kick-eez for the win

I enjoyed my time with a 4 bore - but it was a muzzleloader, both heavier than the OP's gun and not as heavily loaded. And I was a helluva lot younger back then!

I put wooden Jordan Trooper grips on on my 4" S&W 500, which works fine with mild loads but is physically damaging with full power ones.

And I just could not figure out a way to keep a Tokarev TT from slicing up my hand, though I was very young and may simply have not known what I was doing.

On the whole, though, another vote for (against?) the 340PD. With full power loads, the thing is simply evil.

Yikes!

When I was 13, a '91 Argentine Engineers Carbine tried to break mine......that wasnt fun, but it WAS educational.

Pretty much all high-power rifle stocks tend to bruise my jaw after a few magazines, so Im a big fan of cushy cheek rests.:D
It's not a gun you shoot from the bench. You take a step back and roll with the recoil. That load will get you around 1600 FPS and 7000 Ft Lbs or so.

My most unpleasant and Least "Fun Gun" to shoot would be my Astra Model 600 9mm. On a good day, and these were few and far between, I could get through maybe 50 rounds before my hand was done shooting for the rest of the week.

A few other straight blowback guns that I was never very fond of either were the "new" Mauser HSc in .380, the Walther PPKs in .380, and the Walther PP in .32.
A 400 is equally bad.

My wife’s aunt carries a 38 LCR and she is quick and good with it. She will snap it out empty it and put it back in her purse fully loaded in about 30 seconds. I have shot it. Pleasant is not one of the terms that comes to mind, but that 125lb lady isn’t phased by it.
there are a few times here where guys are out toughed by women??

what is trigger slap anyway? I have fired AK's to many to count and I do not remember anything like that

I don't know what it is specifically, but, on a cold day I would contemplate hitting my finger with a hammer after 30 rds from my old WASR 10 just to make it feel better.

Trigger slap never bothered me with AK 74 or 47/AKM - full auto that is, not the "civilian" copies. Yea, there is some in full auto, but nothing to write home about... RPD MG on the other hand - quite pronounced, it literally hurts.

I remember there is a "fix" for trigger slap. forgot what it was
